CO 72 with darker shade, fingering yarn- do not do first six rounds in worsted weight. This will make your

hat too big!

Needle 1: 25 Needle 2: 25 Needle 3: 22

K2 p2- 6 rnds

Using lighter color, and worsted weight yarn if you wish, Knit one round

PREPARE FOR EARS

N1: k7, bind off 8; k to end of needle.

N2: knit16, bind off 8,

N3:knit.

NEXT

N1: k7, cast on 8. K11

N2: K15 cast on 8, k1

N3:knit

CONTINUING: knit 4 rounds

-k4 k2tog

-k1 round

-repeat last 2 steps to desried hat height minus 3 rows.

DEC:

-k2, k2tog

-k1, ktog

-k2tog

-k3tog. Use yarn needle to close up remaining sts.

Using first color, make a pom pom. Attach to top of hat

Using crochet hook and yarn, attach a loop on bottom of hat under left side of ear hole. Ch 8. Fasten off.

Re-attach yarn on other side of ear hole. Ch 8, sl st in last chain made, connecting the 2. Chain 15. Fasten

off. Repeat on other side. Cut off all extra yarn and weave in ends. Enjoy your hat.

OPTIONAL FINISHING: on the inside of the hat, using bright yarn or item of your choice, Mark the side

which is the back of the hat.
